For businesses and startups

Research that holds up in public

A user study, a white paper or a peer-reviewed paper with real evidence behind it. Led by a researcher who has worked in industry, quoted per project and paid in milestones.

Why commission research

Evidence is the cheapest credibility there is

Claims are free and everybody makes them. A designed study is how yours becomes the one that is believed.

R&D with evidence

Test a design or a model with real participants and get a result your team can build on, not an opinion.

PR and thought leadership

A white paper with a method section is quoted, cited and shared. One without is read as advertising.

Investors and grants

Independent, carefully reported evidence of what works turns a claim in a deck into something diligence can check.

Customers and procurement

Buyers ask for proof. A study with a design they can read answers the question before it is raised.

What we can make

Four kinds of project

A product user study

You bring
A product, prototype or feature and the question you cannot answer from analytics.
You get
A designed and ethically run study, analysed properly, with a report and, if you want, a paper.

A white paper

You bring
A claim you want to make credibly: a technique, a result, a point of view.
You get
A rigorous paper with sources, method and honest limits, written to be quoted and shared.

A benchmark or evaluation

You bring
Your system and the alternatives it should be compared with.
You get
A fair, reproducible comparison with the method published, so the result survives scrutiny.

A case study

You bring
A deployment, customer or project with a story worth documenting.
You get
A structured case study with measured outcomes, checked against your data and approved by you.
How quoting works

From inquiry to milestones

Prices are not published because no two projects are the same size. You get a written number before any work starts, and nothing is billed without your acceptance.

  1. 1

    Inquiry

You fill in the form: what you want to publish, why, and what you already have.

  2. 2

    Scoping call

A short call to settle the question, the method, the venue and the risks. An NDA can come first.

  3. 3

    Written quote

A private link by email: scope, deliverables, milestones and total, valid for a stated period.

  4. 4

    Milestones

You accept the quote online. Each milestone is its own payment, by card (PayHere) or bank transfer.

  5. 5

    Delivery

You see drafts, approve what is published and receive the paper, report and data pack as agreed.

Confidentiality

Your data stays yours

You are handing over product data and, often, your users. These are the terms I work to.

  • An NDA can be signed before the scoping call, not after.
  • You own your data and your findings.
  • Nothing is published without your approval, including how your company is named.
  • Studies with participants get ethics review before data collection, and participant data is handled under Sri Lanka's PDPA and under GDPR where it applies.
  • Unflattering results are discussed with you before publication, not hidden and not spun.
  • Funding and competing interests, including yours, are declared in any paper.
Straight answers

No guaranteed acceptance.

Peer review decides, and it is right to. What I control is the quality of the work and the choice of venue, so the odds are as good as they honestly can be. That is the whole offer, and these are the rules it runs on.

  • Reputable venues only

IEEE, ACM, Springer, Elsevier, Taylor & Francis, arXiv preprints. Never a predatory or pay-to-publish journal, whatever the deadline.

  • Authorship follows contribution

ICMJE and COPE norms. I co-author only where I genuinely contribute, and funding and competing interests are declared in the paper.

  • Fees are separate

Open-access article charges and conference registration fees are paid by the authors. I tell you before you commit to a venue that has them.

  • Ethics before data

A study with human participants gets ethics review before any data is collected. Participant data is handled under Sri Lanka's PDPA, and GDPR where it applies.

  • Your data is yours

A business keeps its data and its findings. NDAs are available before the scoping call, not after.

  • No paper mill

I will not write a paper for you, sell authorship or invent a result. If the data does not support a claim, the claim goes.

Questions

What companies ask before they start

Each project is quoted after a scoping call, because a short white paper and a full user study with a peer-reviewed paper are very different amounts of work. The quote is written, with a fixed scope, deliverables and milestones. Prices are not published because there is no honest standard price.

Tell me what you want to prove.

A paragraph on the project is enough to start. I read every inquiry myself and reply by email, usually with an invitation to a short scoping call.
