Unit 3 · Converting binary fractions to decimal

What is the decimal value of 10110.101₂?

10110.101₂ හි දශම අගය කුමක්ද?

  1. (1)21.625
  2. (2)22.5
  3. (3)22.625
  4. (4)22.875
  5. (5)44.625
Show the answer

Answer: (3)

10110 = 16 + 4 + 2 = 22, and .101 = 0.5 + 0.125 = 0.625, so the value is 22.625.

10110 = 16 + 4 + 2 = 22; .101 = 0.5 + 0.125 = 0.625. එබැවින් අගය 22.625 වේ.

Questions students ask

Are the A/L ICT unit tests really free?

Yes. Every unit's test is free, as often as you like. You sign in with your phone number so your best score is kept and the result can tell you which topics to go back to; there is nothing to pay.

What are the questions like?

Paper I style: a stem, five options, one correct answer, no negative marking. Ten questions per unit, chosen so every lesson of the unit is asked, with a 12-minute clock — about the pace of the real paper.

Are the tests in Sinhala or English?

Both. Every question, option and explanation is written in Sinhala and English, and you can switch language at any point during the test.

What happens after the test?

You see your score, the right answer and the reason for every question, and the topics you missed. Each of those topics is covered in the Complete Short Notes for that unit.
